Here are some things I could do to distract me when I get that urge...
- Clean: It can be the kitchen, the bathrooms, dusting surfaces, cleaning the floors, putting things away, folding laundry, etc.
- Prep meals: The best way to make sure what you eat is healthy is by planning and preping your food in advance. If you have a healthy choice ready for you when you open the fridge, than why would chose unhealthy crap instead? Sit down and write out what you're going to eat for the week, go grocery shopping, and cut veggies. I make soups and store individual servings for lunches, or a quinoa pilaf with tons of chopped veggies in it for a quick sidedish or meal.
- Play Video Games: I'm a gamer, so this one isn't for everyone. I love playing all games from causal stuff at sites like bigfishgames.com, strategy games, RPGs, shooters, point-and-click adventures, and so much more. I seriously have hundreds of games, so I might as well play them!
- Do Other Hobbies: Everyone has different hobbies they enjoy. For me, I enjoy cross-stitching (needlework) while catching up on TV shows that I've taped on my PVR. It keeps my hands busy and I find it relaxing. I can serisouly spend a whole day doing that! I also like to build and paint resin models from time to time. Do whatever activity appeals to you the most that the time, as long as its not drinking or binging on food!
- Have a bath.
- Paint your nails / toe nails.
- Do a facial.
- Pull weeds in the yard.
- Call someone you haven't talked to in a while.
- Search the internet for news, inspiration, motivation, or thinspo.
- Find some good health & fitness apps (if you have an ipod/tablet/etc) and use them!
